Girl kisses Daniel Padilla on the lips, trends on Twitter

A girl fan pulled a fast one on Daniel Padilla recently, kissing the teen idol right on the lips in front of other fans. The move then ignited a trending topic on Twitter: #RespectDJslips.

The incident occurred Sunday on “ASAP 2014,” when the heartthrob was singing Rey Valera’s “Kumusta Ka” to promote his upcoming concert.

The kissing fan was among those that mobbed Daniel during the performance, which the latter wasn’t able to finish following the commotion.

Quickly after, the #RespectDJslips hashtag became the number one topic on the site’s Philippine Trends. It also landed fifth on the site’s Worldwide Trends.

The hullabaloo drew mixed reactions from netizens.

“Grabe naman talaga. #RespectDJsLips,” said one.

“Ang kay BERNARDO ay kay BERNARDO!” added another, referring to Daniel’s onscreen partner Kathryn Bernardo.

Another called out, “TO ALL FANS OUT THERE! #RespectDJsLips PLEASE?”

Yet another commented, “CHEEEH!!!! insecure lang kayo.. if i know you’ll do the same thing if there’s a chance.. mga epokrita!!! hahaha.”

Then again, there are those who deem the reaction excessive, if pointless.

Believing “what’s done cannot be undone”, one said, “I think KathNiel fans should accept what happened and leave the girl alone. Masyadong OA eh. #RespectDJsLips.”
