What a difference an airbrush makes, eh?!

Lady Gaga caught our attention this morning after pictures were released showing the extent of retouching that went into one of her magazine shoots.

The before and after images were posted on a popular blog and show how images were altered for a V magazine shoot back in 2009.

The popstar’s ribs have been contoured so she looks slimmer, tattoos erased and her boobs appear to have been airbrushed to appear smaller and higher.

The shoot was done by super snapper to the stars Mario Testino.

Critics are already jumping to criticsze Lady G, saying that this hardly fits in with her ethos of positive body image however you look. Born this way, etc etc.

The 29-year-old has said in the past how she wasn’t born a supermodel, but that shouldn’t matter because ‘it’s the inside that counts’.

‘I’m not a supermodel,’ she said. ‘That’s not what I do. What I do is music. I want my fans to feel the way I do, to know what they have to offer is just as important, more important, than what’s happening on the outside.’

In the past she has criticised magazines for airbrushing her images, so we doubt she is going to be to chuffed with this latest bunch.

Just recently more un-airbrushed images were leaked from her latest campaign for Versace.

In the originals, the singer is basically wearing no make-up but then, as if by magic, after retouching she can be seen with a full face of slap.
