Sarah’s parents advise her not to hurry love

May 17, 2014 Showbiz News

“There’s always a right time for everything. Huwag madaliin.”

This is what Divine and Delfin, Sarah Geronimo’s parents, advise her when it comes to love.

“Kung ano yung nakikita nila, kung maganda man or hindi maganda, basta sasabihin nila, na magiging honest sila. Alam din nila na tumatanda na din tayo at andiyan sila to support me kung ano man yung maging desisyon ko sa buhay,” Sarah said in an interview at the press conference of her movie with Coco Martin “Maybe This Time.”

Decision making

At 25, does Sarah already make her own decisions?

“Unti unti, dahan dahan,” she said.

Sarah said that her past experiences, including her love life, make her “mature as a person.” Thus, she can relate “70-80%” to her character in the movie.

“For you to be able to grow, you have to go through things that will make you mature as a person. Yung lalawakan yung pananaw mo sa buhay, yung pagiging naive mo.”

Lessons for personal growth

She added, “May purpose ang bawat isa kung bakit sila dumadaan, nag-exist sila or nawala sila sa buhay mo. Some people will teach you lessons that will make you grow as a person.”

Sarah learned that she has to feel complete and whole as a person first before she enters a relationship.

Sarah said that every experience, whether good or bad, always carries with it a lesson she can learn from.

Still cyptic about Matteo

“Kailangan talagang pagdaanan ng kahit sinong tao, kahit sinong dalaga or lalake. Learn from yourself. Kailangan mong makita at matutunan iyon for yourself.”

During the interview, Sarah remained reserved when asked about her rumored boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli. Asked how she feels about being Matteo’s first crush when he entered showbiz, Sarah replied, “Yung mga nangyari naman ay hindi pinilit at hindi plinano. May dahilan.”

Sarah only has good words for her new leading man, Coco. Although they have worked together in ABS-CBN’s show “Idol,” this is Sarah and Coco’s first team-up on the big screen.

Judging Coco

What are physical traits of Coco that she likes?

“Yung smile niya talaga.

“Maybe This Time,” which will open in cinemas on May 28, also stars Ruffa Gutierrez, Ogie Diaz, Marlann Flores, Zeppi Borromeo and Garlic Garcia.
