Sheryn Regis Reportedly Dated Another Woman

Former Kapamilya singer Sheryn Regis allegedly dated another woman.

Sheryn Made the First Move

Madrigal divulged that Regis was the one who made the first move in 2005.

According to her, she was separated from her husband at the time she met Regis. Initially, they became friends but Regis later on revealed her true sexuality and her intention to have a relationship with Madrigal.

Madrigal said she and Regis did not have a formal relationship initially.

“From 2005 to 2010, magka-MU [mutual understanding] kami. Kasi alam ko na parang naguguluhan din siya sa sarili niya. Nabanggit nga niya na gusto na raw niyang magpakatotoo, pero may takot siya. Kasi nga nandiyan ang pamilya niya. That time, may career pa siya dito sa Pilipinas. Kaya sabi ko na MU muna kami.”

(From 2005-2010, we had a mutual understanding. Because I know she was still confused. She mentioned that she wanted to come out but had fears. Her family was still there. At that time, she had a career in the Philippines. That’s why I told her that we should only have a mutual understanding.)

The Relationship

It was not until 2011 when Madrigal and Regis decided to take their relationship to the next level.

When asked whether they had a platonic or sexual relationship, Madrigal said:

“Mahal namin ang isa’t isa—we would do what lovers do kapag nagkikita kami, kahit na through Skype lang.”

(We love each other- we would do what lovers do when we see each other, even if it’s only through Skype.)

“Big Mess”

Madrigal also disclosed that Regis’ life in US was not easy and the “Crystal Voice of the Philippines” described it as a “big mess”.

According to Madrigal, Regis did not have a regular show for “The Filipino Channel” and her husband did not have a job.

She even resorted to buying all of Regis’ cd’s just to support her.

“Lahat ng kailangan niya, basta hiniling niya sa akin, ibinibigay ko.”

(I gave her everything she needed.)

The Falling Out

Allegedly, Madrigal and Regis’ relationship started crumbling when the singer stopped contacting her. The loss of communication with the singer triggered Madrigal’s suspicions that Regis is seeing someone else.

Madrigal later on found out that Regis was in a relationship with another woman since 2007. She said that Regis and her family resided in the woman’s house in Texas.

“Kaya siguro itong ibang babae na ito ang sumasalo ng ibang gastusin nila, ‘tapos sinasalo ko rin ang ibang gastos.”

(I think this woman shouldered some of her expenses while I also covered for some of their expenditures.)

Threatening Madrigal

When Madrigal found out that Regis returned to the country, she immediately followed to clear things up with her.

However, Regis apparently brought an NBI or marshall during their meet-up. She also wanted to return all the things Madrigal gave to her.

In addition, Regis promised to pay all her debts to Madrigal even if the latter did not ask for it. Regis even threatened Madrigal saying:

‘Sige, ilabas mo na ang gusto mong ilabas tungkol sa akin! Hindi ako natatakot!’

(Go on, reveal everything about me. I am not afraid!)

The confrontation finally made Madrigal decide to cut ties with the performer.

Madrigal to Regis: Come Out

Madrigal urged Regis to come out like Aiza Seguerra and Charice Pempengco, who are now happier since they revealed their true sexuality.

She added that she is thankful to Regis because the experience helped her reconcile with her husband, who is supportive of what she went through with the vocalist.

Regis has not yet issued a statement about Madrigal’s story.
