Will Daniel Padilla’s mom allow him to change religion?

“Kung gusto niya sa Iglesia, okay sa akin.”

This is Karla Estrada’s reply to a question on whether she will allow her son Daniel Padilla to become an Iglesia ni Cristo member just like special friend Kathryn Bernardo, who said she cannot have a relationship with someone who belongs to another religion.

Undecided for now

“Hindi namin napag-usapan iyon ever. Hindi ko siya tinatanong. Pero ako, open. Lahat naman ng for the better, okay sa akin. Wala akong question sa relihiyon. Open kami, basta kung saan maganda,” Karla told Kris Aquino in the August 7 episode of “Kris TV.”

Daniel said in a previous interview that he is open to giving up his Catholic faith in favor of another religion although he cannot decide for now.

“Tingnan na lang po natin kung anong pwedeng mangyayari sa future. Siguro hindi pa ako makakapag-decide ngayon. Pero siyempre open naman ako. Diyos pa rin iyon. Bakit naman aayawan?”

Karla herself  is open to learning about other beliefs and religions, including Islam.

Respect for mom

“Meron akong interest pero hindi pa ako ganoon ka-ano. I’m sure nacu-curious lang. Babasahin mo iyon at dadamdamin mo. Kung kaya ko, why not?”

Despite his achievements, Karla said Daniel has remained the same. He still shows how much he respects her.

“Naturally naman maganda ang puso. Kasi kahit ano namang pagpapalaki nating mga magulang, individual pa rin siyang tao. Kung magiging masama siya, choice niya iyon. Eh choice niyang maging maayos at makinig pa rin sa akin.”
