Jodi Sta. Maria shrugs off ‘worst dressed’ comments

To each his own.

This is what Jodi Sta. Maria thinks of the mixed reactions she received over the Joey Samson white suit she wore in the 8th Star Magic Ball on Saturday, September 6.

While most female stars wore white, silver and black gowns, Jodi went androgynous with her white tuxedo and old Hollywood style short hairdo.

Different look

“Choice ko talaga na mag-suit para maiba. For the past eight years, lagi akong naka-gown, so we opted for a suit this year. It was my idea na mag-suit. We trust Joey naman as a batikan na designer. Maganda naman ang mga works niya, so hinayaan namin siya sa sarili niyang rendition,” Jodi said at the press conference for her endorsement Cosmo Body health supplement on Wednesday, September 10.

Her unconventional look landed Jodi on the ‘best dressed’ and ‘worst dressed’ list at the ball.

“Okay lang sa akin na napabilang ako sa ‘worst dressed,’ napabilang ako sa ‘best dressed.’ I don’t mind. Ang importante doon naging masaya ako sa suot ko, as long as naging komportable naman ako doon sa suot ko. Happy naman ako sa suit na ginawa ni Joey Smason. Kung may mga tao na hindi nagkagusto, okay lang, kasi opinion naman iyon.”

Mum on Jolo Revilla

She knows she can’t please everybody.

“May mga magkakagusto, merong hindi. Okay lang. May kanya-kanya tayong opinion. Siguro may mga nabigla. Yung mga hindi naman nagkagusto, okay lang din kasi entitled sila sa opinions nila.”

Jodi is not as open about boyfriend Jolo Revilla though.

“Maayos po ang lahat.Hindi naman kaila sa inyo, na sa mga ganoong bagay, tinitira ko sa sarili ko.”

Jodi is promoting her horror movie “Maria Leonora Teresa,” which she said is not related to the doll Nora Aunor and Tirso Cruz III popularized during their heyday as a love team.

“Wala po. Pangalan siya ng tatlong bata (sa movie).”
