A new Pulse Asia survey showed that 36% of Pinoys believe President Noynoy Aquino failed to fulfill his promise to follow a straight path (“tuwid na daan”) or his anti-corruption policy.

This opinion was more pronounced in class A, B, and C, where 43% disagreed that Aquino has kept his promise of a straight path.

The survey also showed that 34% expressed indecision over Aquino’s adherence to the straight path, while 29% gave their thumbs up.

Pulse Asia surveyed more than 1,200 respondents, aged 18 years old and above, from September 8 to 15.

During this period, news regarding the corruption in Makati involving Vice President Jejomar Binay and his son, Makati City Mayor Junjun Binay dominated the headlines.

It was also during this period that calls for the resignation of Philippine National Police Director General Alan Purisima gained ground. Aquino has consistently defended the PNP chief.

Other big news during the survey period were the junking of three impeachment complaints against Aquino, the 90-day suspension order against Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, as well as the port congestion and commuter woes.
