November 8, 2014 Philippine Local News

Pasay City police arrested two of their own men for robbing a messenger of some P1 million cash in the city Thursday.

Senior Superintendent Melchor Reyes, Pasay police chief, identified the two police officers as PO1 Ronald Villanueva and PO1 Allas Noli Soliman.

The two are among five armed men who stopped the messenger of Synobi Travel and Tours and took P1,002,931 in cash from him at the corner of Macapagal Boulevard and Buendia extension in front of the World Trade Center yesterday.

Police arrested Villanueva at his house in Cavite last night while Soliman was caught in Valenzuela.

A third policeman linked to the robbery identified as PO2 Mark John Morguera remains at large.

The three are all assigned to the Pasay Police Community Precinct (PCP) 5.

Two civilians, Limuel Campo Sagrado and Alexander Pantoja, were also arrested for the robbery. A 9mm pistol was seized from the two.

Upon his arrest, Villanueva did not deny his involvement in the robbery and linked two other policemen to the crime.

Only P349,000 has been recovered from Villanueva.

Villanueva and Soliman are now detained at the Pasay police station. Authorities are urging Morguera to surrender.
