Former PBA Most Valuable Player Arwind Santos released his first single entitled “Bagyo,” a day before his San Miguel Beermen defeated the Barako Bull Energy to stay undefeated in the 2014 PBA Philippine Cup.
“Bagyo” is the first of 12 songs written and performed by Santos. He dedicated the entire album to victims of the recent catastrophes in the Philippines.
The video opened with clips of typhoons, the practice of the San Miguel Beermen, and Santos recording the song.
The tail of the video also featured showbiz personalities Jugs Jugueta, Teddy Corpuz, Billy Crawford, Jong Hilario, and Vhong Navarro.
“Aside from basketball, Arwind loves to write songs during his free time. His first single, Bagyo was inspired by the series of typhoons in the Philippines this year. He tried helping affected families all over the country in his own small ways,” said the statement written by Melmac Sports Management, the owner of the MTV.
Santos received support from teammate Doug Kramer who also appeared on the video.
Two days after posting, the video already has more that 13,000 views on YouTube.
