[BPCI Strikes Back Again] Binibining Pilipinas 2015 cancels the part of a Fashion show where Filipino designer’s creations are being used!

By this time you already have heard that there will no longer be an evening gown segment on this year’s Bb Pilipinas 2015 fashion show. And yes, we didn’t disclose this to you without confirming it and getting more details as to what has happened.From what our moles tells us, the EG was removed without offering an explanation as to why. It was just decided today that there would no longer be gowns in the fashion show. The EG segment of the fashion show will be replaced by a swimsuit segment with the following sequence: swimsuit, then the Jag Denim segment and finally the national costume competition.

1. A little digging and our moles have revealed two ‘rumored’ reasons for the cancellation.
   There is a conflict with a local sponsor for the fashion show, because the gown and national costumes would take too much time away from the said sponsor. If you would think about it, why should a major sponsor pay for a show that would only showcase their merchandise for only several minutes.
2. All the evening gowns by the Filipino designers would be used for the finals night instead, hence the ‘pull-out’ from the fashion show.
3. Using local designers’ gowns at the fashion show would create comparisons on the Cumbia gowns that will be worn by the candidates on the finals. Hence the action was to kill off the EG segment of the fashion show because the local designers’ gowns would probably look better than the ones from Cumbia.

Since there is no official announcement or even an explanation on this, all we can do is speculate. Hopefully pageant fans won’t get mad or be hostile over this development. I pray that the Heavens listen to pageant fans’ clamor for Filipino designed costumes and gown soon… because by the looks of it, this hope is falling on deaf ears…
