The real reason why Gerphil didn’t perform in ‘ASAP’

“Asia’s Got Talent” finalist Gerphil Flores on Thursday explained why she did not perform with her fellow Filipino artists on “ASAP” last Sunday.

Flores caught the attention of the Kapamilya viewers who noticed that she was missing during the finalists’ homecoming on the variety show last weekend.

Gwyneth Dorado, Junior New System, and “Asia’s Got Talent” winners El Gamma Penumbra all performed on “ASAP” on Sunday. They also appeared in other ABS-CBN shows in the succeeding days.

Speaking to entertainment site Push, Flores said she was still in Singapore at the time and couldn’t perform with the other finalists.

“Unang-una po ‘yung sa ‘ASAP’ guesting, marami pong naghanap po sa akin dun. Bakit wala si Gerphil, ‘yung tatlo lang? Kasi po nauna po silang umuwi sa ‘kin, naiwan po ako sa Singapore. Tapos nakauwi po ako Monday lang po ng gabi. Na-extend po ‘yung stay ko dun at dahil po dun, hindi po ako nakasama sa ‘ASAP,'” she said during a press conference for the Filipino finalists.

Flores also addressed rumors that she has a grudge against ABS-CBN, saying that she has yet to receive an invitation from the network.

“After po nun, nung nakauwi na po ako dito, madami na pong mga networks na nagtatanong po, pero ‘yung ABS, wala pa naman po akong nare-receive,” she said.

Flores failed to make it to the finals of the first season of “Pilipinas Got Talent” in 2010.

The classical singer stressed that that she is willing to perform in any network.

As for her future plans, Flores said she will be finishing her last semester at the University of the Philippines, where is taking up Voice.
