Actress Cynthia Patag says Vice President Jejomar Binay has ‘no conscience’

August 5, 2015 Showbiz News

Coming right on the heels of Vice President Jejomar Binay’s version of what he calls the “True State of the Nation Address (TSONA)”, actress Cynthia Patag took to her Facebook account on Tuesday to air her grievances about the politician.
She started her open letter by pointing out that Binay has failed to perform his most basic function as the country’s second highest person of authority, next to President Noynoy Aquino.
“As early as Grade School, we were taught that the Vice-President should have the President’s back for the sake of our nation,” she wrote.
She continued, “Kaya nagtataka ako kung bakit mo siya sinisiraan ng marahas. Seems all you do is tell us Filipinos about the supposedly ‘palpak‘ governance of Pnoy – lahat na ‘ata ng kapalpakan kasalanan niya pati Yolanda—before segueing to how you will transform the entire Philippine archipelago into a First World country. In six years.”
Patag singled out that if a person really wants to help, “kayang gawin ang mga pagbabagong ito ng hindi kinakailangang maluklok sa pwesto na palaging may kasamang media for the publicity.”
She asked, “If you think you’d be incredibly outstanding as Philippine President in 2016, what exactly have you done during your five years as VP—apart from relentlessly campaigning for yourself as President in May 2016?”
The former Palibhasa Lalake star even said that she has sensed Binay’s “vile agenda” a long time ago. She cited how all the vice president’s “acts of charity” always lacked genuineness and were merely done either to promote himself or to instill gratitude to its recipients.
“Those relief bags with your name printed on it, huh! Even the rosary bracelets have your initial ‘B’ printed boldly on the cross. Santissima—sacrilege!” she wrote.
Patag also touched on the corruption cases filed against Binay in connection to his term as Makati City Mayor and how he skipped the Senate Blue Ribbon committee hearings thrice.
“You said you’ve already been judged by the taong bayan. Yes, we have judged you—as a pathetic coward! A person who is innocent of graft and plunder charges levelled at him can’t wait to clear his name by telling the truth,” she said.
As a parting request, Patag asked Binay to stop taking credit for Makati, saying that, “You did not build Makati, the Ayalas did.”
“Where did all our money go?’ perplexed Makati taxpayers silently ask themselves whenever the see the squalid shanties of ‘the other Makati,’” she said.
In the end, the actress-comedienne boldly claimed that Binay has no conscience.
“You’ll sleep well tonight. There won’t be a persistent conscience to bother you. Because you don’t have one,” she said.
