The Philippines redeemed itself from a heartbreaking loss with a 78-72 stunner over erstwhile unbeaten China in the second round of the Fiba Asia Under-16 Championship Tuesday night in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Batang Gilas quickly put its painful defeat to South Korea on Monday behind in dealing China’s first-ever loss in Under-16 play.

With the historic victory, the young Filipinos tied China and Korea on top of Group F with a 4-1 record heading into the knockout stages on Thursday.
China’s undefeated streak of 30 games dating back to 2009 when the first U16 tournament was held came to a screeching halt.
