December 7, 2015 Philippine Local News

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Friday announced the schedule of the national civil service written examinations for 2016.

The CSC will administer the fire officer examination (FOE) and penology officer examination (POE) both on March 13; the Career Service Examination, Paper-and-Pencil Test (CSE-PPT) for the professional and subprofessional levels on April 17 and October 23; and the CSE for Foreign Service Officer (CSE-FSO) on August 7.

The CSE-PPT are open to Filipino citizens, regardless of educational attainment, who are at least 18 years old at the time of filing of application, and have not taken the same level of examination in less than three months.

The said exam will result in the conferment of their professional or subprofessional eligibility appropriate for appointment to corresponding permanent positions in the government.

For the CSE-PPT scheduled on April 17, 2016, applicants must not take the same level of the examination from January 17, 2016, to April 16, 2016.

The application period for the April 17 exam started on November 9, 2015, and will run up to February 25 the next year. Application must be filed personally at the CSC Regional Office or at any CSC Field Office where the applicant intends to take the test. The exam will cost P500.

The CSE-FSO meanwhile is both an eligibility exam for government service and a qualifying test for the five-part Foreign Service Officer Examination (FSOE) of the DFA.

Applications for FSOE are filed at Regional Consular Offices of the DFA, or at Philippine embassies or consulates, or at the DFA-Board of Foreign Service Examinations, Pasay City.
