Why Empress Schuck left ABS-CBN

January 29, 2015 Showbiz News

Newest Kapuso actress Empress Schuck admits feeling hurt when she left her former home network, ABS-CBN.

Empress revealed that she was sad because she lacked projects after the teleserye “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” ended in 2013.

Na-hurt ako, pero hindi ko din naming sinabi sa kanila na nasasaktan ako,” Empress told reporters at the press conference of GMA’s newest teleserye “Kailan Tama ang Mali?” on Tuesday, January 27.

Self-doubts

The 21-year-old actress shared that her ABS-CBN contract was not renewed, so she decided to move to GMA.

Empress had lead roles in ABS-CBN’s “Rosalka” and “Mundo Man ay Magunaw.”

Tapos magdadalawang-taon na ako walang show. So sabi ni Tita Becky (Aguila, her manager), why not subukan ko dito? So maganda na may approval talaga.”

Empress admits questioning herself and her abilities as an actress because she lacked projects.

Overwhelmed, happy

Empress took up a short marketing course in Ateneo De Manila University during her break.

While she felt sad at leaving ABS, Empress feels overwhelmed and happy with the warm welcome GMA has given her.

“Nakaka-move on na kasi. Na-overwhelm ako sa kabaitan ng GMA. Warm yung pag-welcome nila so malaking tulong iyon.”

Empress hopes to work with Alden Richards someday.

“Kailan Tama ang Mali” also stars Geoff Eigenmann, Max Collins, Ryza Cenon, Chariz Solomon, Dion Ignacio, Ervic Vijandre, Ken Alfonso and Ash Ortega.
