Almost three years after the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) revoked his medical license due to his sex video scandal with Katrina Halili, Hayden Kho is back to being a doctor again.
The PRC approved his Petition to Reinstate License on Monday, July 7.
Hayden took to Instagram to share the good news and express his happiness. He posted a photo of the document which reinstated him as a medical doctor.
‘Repentant heart’
Part of the document states, “We see no cogent reason to further burden petitioner with the remnants of a reckless faux pas when his overall conduct shows a manifestly repentant heart. While others simply passively wait for the period revocation to lapse, petitioner positively and quickly acted to prove himself a worthy medical doctor to this Board and the Commission.
“Wherefore, all premises considered and for reasons of equity and justice, the Board hereby grants petitioner’s petition for reinstatement. Dr. Hayden Kho is hereby reinstated to the practice as medical doctor.”
The document was signed by Dr. Miguel Noche, Jr., chairman of the PRC’s Board of Medicine (BOM).
Bible verses
Hayden also posted verses from the Bible.
“Here are two Bible verses that reflect what my heart wants to say about this. “You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again. Psalms 71:20 “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.” Joel 2:25 All glory to Him, the Almighty. Thank you. Thank you, Lord.”
Hayden’s former girlfriend, Dr. Vicki Belo, who is with him in the US, also expressed her joy on Instagram. Vicki posted a copy of the Petition for Reinstatement, which she said is the “most beautiful picture” she has ever seen in five years.
“This is The PRC document restoring @dochayden’s medical license . Thank you so much to our father in heaven. It’s so true Matthew 6:33 that if you put God first all will be added on to you . Congratulations Dr. Hayden Kho, Jr.”
Katrina’s reaction
Meanwhile, a report published by Philippine Entertainment Portal said Katrina’s camp maintained that Hayden’s two-year waiting period to file for a Petition for Reinstatement is yet to expire on July 26, 2014. Her camp is filing a motion for reconsideration.
“The Decision of Court of Appeals affirming the PRC Decision (revoking his medical license) became final only last July 26, 2012. The 2-year waiting period for filing Petition to Reinstate License will expire July 26, 2014. However, Dec. 2013 pa lang nag file na [ng Petition to Reinstate License] and was decided by PRC on July 7, 2014. The waiting period has yet to expire. In addition, there was no fact finding investigation. No formal hearing conducted in order to confront the witnesses who executed affidavits. This ruling will set a bad precedent. We will file a motion for reconsideration at PRC to correct this legal anomaly and if necessary, we will go to higher courts to decide on this legal issue of ‘2-year waiting period’ under Sec. 27 of Rep. Act 2382 or the Medical Act of 1959,” Katrina’s legal counsel, lawyer Raymund Palad said.
