Jaclyn Jose reacts to Laarni Enriquez’s ‘anti-Andi Eigenmann’ statement

October 19, 2014 Showbiz News

Jaclyn Jose sees nothing wrong with Laarni Enriquez’s statement indirectly saying she’s not in favor of Andi Eigenmann for her son, Jake Ejercito.

As a mom herself, Jaclyn understands Laarni.

“Wala namang problema dun. It’s her prerogative as a mother. Kung anuman ang sinasabi niya, karapatan niya ‘yun dahil siya ang nagpalaki sa kanya (Jake), hindi tayo,” she said when asked by Yahoo Philippines at the press conference of GMA’s bayaniserye “Ilustrado” on Thursday at Historia Restaurant in Quezon City.

This came after Laarni, Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada’s mistress, didn’t give a definite answer when asked by reporters recently if she likes Andi for Jake.

“Let’s put it this way, I want my son to be happy. I want my son to have a happy family—a grounded one, ‘yung talagang intact. In this world, nothing is permanent. You can only depend in your own family, that’s how I raised my children, ‘yun lang. Jake is still young, Andi is still young, and she’s so busy with her own career,” she said.

‘I know where she’s coming from’

Conceding that her family is not the ideal type, Jaclyn said it’s every mother’s wish to see her child end up with someone from a good family.

Jaclyn continued, “I know where she’s coming from kasi nanggaling din ako doon. At nauunawaan ko siya nang husto. Tama naman. Kahit ako siguro mag-wish ganun din e, kaso iba ‘yung buhay namin e. Showbiz in itself magulo na e.”

It will be recalled that Andi recently confirmed her breakup with Jake following a series of leaked photos showing the 24-year-old political scion kissing another girl.

Jaclyn wants Jake for daughter

Even if she avoided questions about Andi’s love life, the 50-year-old actress said Jake has her blessings for her daughter.

I’ve known Jake all his life.

Jaclyn, however, maintained she’s already “mission accomplished” as far as raising her daughter is concerned —and that Andi is old enough to mind her own business.

No regrets being an absentee mother

Meanwhile, Jaclyn said she didn’t regret not being around during Andi’s formative years because she was too busy single-handedly providing for her two daughters.

No regrets.

Andi has a three-year-old daughter named Ellie.

Has past circumstances made her eldest daughter (her other daughter is Gwen, aged 12) the “stubborn-type”?

I wasn’t present everyday of her life.”

Ngayon that she’s realizing that, naiiintindihan na niya why it happened. At alam niya ‘yan.”
