Bashed for more than a week because of a Facebook post about the upcoming market release of the iPhone 6 Plus in the Philippines, YouTube sensation Jamich finally breaks silence, posting an official statement in Jamvhile’s personal page.

We just want to clear things out We never beg for donations. Nagkaroon po kami ng benefit concert before, yun ung way ng mga celebrity friends namin na gustong tumulong sa sakit ko. Sa lahat ng nagbigay ng donations before, we’re very grateful for that and we assure you na lahat po yun ay napunta sa pagpapagamot ko. Wala naman po sigurong tao ang uunahin pa ang luho kesa sa pagpapagaling niya. We thank God na kahit may sakit po ako, He still provides financial and career blessings for me and for our family. May pera naman po kami pambili ng mga bagay na gusto namin. Money is never an issue. Happiness is. At tulad po ng karamihan, excited din po kami sa mga bagong lumalabas na gadgets at isa po un sa mga maraming bagay na nagpapasaya sa amin We thank our followers for unending love & support! Life is short. Negativity is all around you, choose to be positive and spread the love.

Before the duo issued their official statement regarding the controversy (read post here), there were several theories floating around that it was not Jamich who made the post or that it was a sponsored post from one of their sponsors, Globe Telecom.
According to an article in 2ngaw blog, there were plenty of indications that the FB page’s admin or some bloggers were behind the post, especially considering that it was not taken down despite plenty of backlash from netizens.
With the YouTube sensation duo and real-life sweethearts being bashed from all directions, the blog believes Jamich should have issued an official statement already or, at least, take down the offending post.
It took the pair one week to finally issue a statement, clarifying the issue about donations and their excitement over Apple’s latest gadget. Still, even with the clear statement about money not being an issue with them and that they never begged for donations, there were still those who commented that the pair still asked for money in some ways, including in benefit concerts.
There were others who staunchly sided with the duo, saying the benefit concerts were done by other celebrities while donations, although gladly received, were never asked for and were all voluntary.
Now that Jamich has aired their side, fans are hoping the haters would finally go quiet and just let Jam enjoy his iPhone, whether it comes from Globe as his mom claims or from their own pockets.
