Julian Estrada is positive that his father, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, will be able to clear his name from plunder and graft charges.
“I know naman and Lord knows na he’s innocent,” Julian said at the press conference of the movie “Relaks, It’s Just Pag-ibig” on Thursday night, October 30.
Senator Estrada has been detained in Camp Crame since June for his alleged involvement in the pork barrel scam. His close friend Sen. Bong Revilla is also detained for the same charges.
“We believe that he will get out of jail soon. And I always pray every night for him to get out,” Julian added.
Close to dad
The young actor is close to his father and often seeks his advice. When it comes to love, Jinggoy advises Julian to take it easy because he is still young.
“Nung nalaman niya po yung breakup ko, sabi niya,”Bata ka pa at marami ka pang pagdadaanan. At meron pang iba diyan.”
Julian relates that Jinggoy is happy now that he has a new movie, which also stars Piolo Pascual’s son Inigo, Sofia Andres and Ericka Villongco.
“Now I’m starting again kasi I carry yung name ng dad ko. There’s pressure but I try my best not to be affected,” Julian, who once courted Julia Barretto, said.
Suplado vs friendly
Julian, whose last movie is “Katas ng Saudi” in 2007, isn’t sure if he wants to follow in his dad’s showbiz footsteps, because Jinggoy is more into action movies.
“Siguro sa susunod, titingnan ko pa (what genre).”
Asked about the difference between him and his dad, Julian replied, “Si Daddy kasi suplado, ako friendly. Kapag comfortable po ako sa people around me, hindi po ako naiilang.”
“Relaks, It’s Just Pag-ibig” opens in cinemas on November 12.
