Karylle dismisses ‘curse’ rumors on ‘Showtime’

September 11, 2014 Showbiz News

“It’s Showtime” host Karylle doesn’t think her noontime show on ABS-CBN is cursed, just because some of her colleagues in the daily program (e.g. Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda and Billy Crawford) got involved in controversies.

“I choose not to believe it because I don’t wanna be part of anything na will bring anyone harm. Sometimes people connect the dots,” Karylle said at the press conference for her newest endorsement, Status Salon on Wednesday, September 10.

Think positive

“Siguro dahil madami kami, everyday kaming nakikita, so malaki din ang pressure. Every little or big mistake, napapag-usapan talaga. But, ganoon talaga ang buhay siguro,” Karylle added.

Instead of dwelling on negative thoughts, Karylle would rather be optimistic.

“I really believe na words are powerful. I choose my words very carefully. Because your thoughts, what you say, it happens. So, you could choose to believe it or not.”

Karylle would like to offer a prayer for Billy, who took a break from the show after facing charges of malicious mischief and disobedience to a person in authority.

Ups and downs

“We haven’t seen him so it’s a bit hard to say. Kami naman we all go through ups and downs. We’re all there for the victories and also there when you really need each other the most.”

What does Karylle think of Billy’s admission that he was “stressed by certain situations”?

“I really can’t speak for him or anyone else. It’s a different demand siguro. We have our own ways of dealing with it. Hindi ko din naman alam,” Karylle said.

Stress busters

She knows their job demands a lot from her and her co-hosts, physically and emotionally. Thus, she deals with stress by spending time with her family and friends.

“I take a lot of vacations. It’s hard. It’s not the easiest thing to do but it’s also super fun. I’ve come to see it in a different way, like yung appreciation level ko has increased so high. Once you see naman the fruits of your labor, whether how tiring it would be, nawawala din.”

She added, “Iba-ibang buhay naman. I am just so happy na nalagpasan namin iyon, kapit ka lang. Everything will come to pass.”

Karylle is enjoying newly-married life with husband Yael Yuzon, her source of inspiration for her soon-to-be-released album under Polyeast Records.

“Si Yael always writes songs at home. Ayaw kong magpahuli. So, I started recording this Sunday,” she said.
