Looks like Cedric Lee is always a magnet of controversy.

A lawyer of Kapuso actress Katrina Halili have asked the Department of Justice to investigate reports that Lee and his group have a hand in the circulation of a sex video involving his client and model Hayden Kho.

Justice secretary Leila de Lima revealed the DOJ is now looking into the request of lawyer Raymund Palad in behalf of his client Halili. De Lima said she already directed the National Bureau of Investigation to probe Lee’s possible involvement in the Hayden Kho sex scandal.

Palad said there is a big possibility that Lee and his group had a hand in the circulation of the sex video since Kho himself made mention about that. He said Halili earlier filed a libel and another criminal case against Kho and his mother Irene in connection with the taking and circulation of the sex video.

As answer to the complaints of Halili, Kho’s mother in her judicial affidavit alleged that before the sex video circulated, Lee and his group extorted P4 million from her son so that that his sex video will not come out.

To prove her claim, Kho’s mother even submitted an audio recording of a meeting between Hayden, her and a group affiliated with Lee in court. The sex video controversy earlier caused Kho to lose his doctors license.

Kho admitted taking the sex videom but denied it was him who posted it online. NBI Cybercrime Division chief Ronald Aguto said his group will immediately look into the allegation by looking into the audio recording submitted by Kho’s mother in court.

Lee is currently detained after he got indicted for allegedly mauling and extorting money from It’s Showtime host Vhong Navarro. Aside from the Navarro case, Lee is also facing a tax evasion case filed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

The BIR filed the case against Lee as president of Izumo Contractors Incorporated at the Department of Justice. The BIR said Izumo failed to pay the right taxes to the government from 2006 to 2009, based on certifications from the company’s clients.

BIR commissioner Kim Henares said Lee failed to pay the right taxes to the government when he misdeclared that Izumo earned only P76.22 million from government contracts from 2006-2009. But Lee said the supposed tax liability of Izumo should not be blamed on him, but on his chief accountant Susan Nace who allegedly failed to verify the actual earnings of his company.
