Paolo Bediones takes indefinite leave as TV5 news anchor

September 6, 2014 Showbiz News

First, Paolo Bediones’ sex video went viral last July and sent netizens talking for weeks. Part two of the sex video – this time reportedly longer than the first — circulated online only a few weeks ago.

But Paolo still appeared as co-anchor of “Aksyon Tonite” until two weeks ago, when he was no longer seen in the late-night news program.

Paolo’s manager, Noel Ferrer confirmed to Yahoo Philippines that the TV5 host has gone on indefinite leave as co-anchor of the news program “Aksyon Tonite” starting this month.

‘Hardest and most painful decisions in life’

Paolo’s Instagram post last Wednesday, September 3, 12:56 p.m., elicited sympathy from his netizen friends. It read, “Some of the hardest and most painful decisions in life actually free us from living life in fear. Have a blessed Wednesday everyone ”

But Paolo stays as host of TV5’s public service program “Rescue 5” and the reality science show “Demolition Job.” In fact, his latest Instagram post (Thursday, September 5) showed Paolo standing at the bus terminal, where he said he was shooting “Rescue5 travel safety tips in preparation for the coming sem break and all souls day.”

It will be recalled that TV5 expressed its support for Paolo soon after the sex video came out by issuing a statement saying that it strongly disapproves of the “malicious and wanton publication of the video.”

TV5 added that the issue was a “purely personal and private matter” and that it respects the privacy of its employees and talents.
