Sharon Cuneta’s managers say her TV5 contract was pre-terminated

Is there something more than meets the eye behind the cordial leave-taking between Sharon Cuneta and TV5, her home network for almost three years?

Sharon’s managers said in an official statement sent to Yahoo Philippines on Monday, September 1, that the actress’ contractual relationship with TV5 officially ended on August 18, more than two years ahead of the original contract period.

‘Unresolved issues’

“Underneath these cordial expressions, however, lie a host of unresolved issues pertaining to the pre-termination of the contract, including the causes thereof and the consequential injuries suffered by the aggrieved party. These matters are left for resolution privately between the parties themselves or, if necessary, through an appropriate formal proceeding,” the statement said.

Meantime, the statement continued, Sharon wants to enjoy the company of her loyal supporters.

“Ms. Cuneta intends to enjoy the restful company of people who have always loved and believed in her, in good times and in bad times, and at the same time re-create herself for even bigger opportunities in her phenomenal career.”

It will be recalled that Sharon announced she’s leaving TV5 in her Facebook post last Friday, August 29. She also said that she will be dropping hints about her next project.

Mid-life crisis

Before that, Sharon admitted in an open letter in her Facebook account that she is undergoing a mid-life crisis.

TV5, for its part, tweeted that it is grateful for Sharon’s contribution to the network and that it wishes her well in her next endeavors.

As of posting time, the Kapatid network has not yet released a statement on the said  issue.
