Vilma Santos criticized over spelling mistake

Veteran actress Vilma Santos is being bashed on social media over her spelling mistakes (bless instead of blessed; truely instead of truly) in the dedication card she sent to television host Kris Aquino.

Aquino on Monday posted a picture of the card along with the box of ensaymadas sent by Santos to her to express gratitude for her continued support.

In the caption, Aquino said: “Super sarap Ensaymadas from my Idol sa trabaho, serbisyo publiko & sa pag handle ng personal na buhay, sa pagiging mabuti at mapagmahal na asawa at nanay! Thank You Ate Vi!”

The following day, Aquino posted another picture, showing Santos’ text message to her.

In the text message, the veteran actress informed Aquino that she is being bashed after she posted the picture of the dedication card. Still showing humility, Santos also noted that nobody is perfect and she still has a lot of things to learn.

“I guess marami pa akong dapat matutunan. I take all of these as constructive criticisms. Tao lang; nagkakamali. Sa mga bashers… Salamat po. Again, thanks for believing in me. Until next time,” Santos said.

To which, Aquino replied: “I’m sorry Ate Vi. I didn’t think about the wrong spelling because what mattered to me was your kindness & the thought behind the card.”

In the caption, Aquino again expressed her admiration for the actress-politician.

“I woke up & saw this text from Ate Vi. And it made me realize why I am such a fan of this woman: she is BRAVE, she has a WONDERFUL SENSE OF HUMOR, she has WISDOM, and she is TRUTHFUL! Above everything else, she remains HUMBLE! HINDI SYA PIKON KASI NGA ALAM NYA THAT HER LIFE IS GOOD. Her example will continue to inspire me for the rest of my life,” Aquino said.

The screen capture of Santos’ message, which was posted by Aquino, already garnered over 6,000 “likes” and 307 comments.
