Four talented Filipino siblings are inching closer to their dream of becoming the next K-pop stars after making it to Top 8 of MNET’s Superstar K6.
Sisters Mylene, Irene, Celina and Almira Gollayan, known in the show as MICA, performed a rendition of Lee Sun Hee song, “Fate”.
The Filipino siblings said they were reminded of their past while studying the lyrics of the song.
“We got more touched when we know the meaning of the lyrics, which is saying goodbye to someone who loves you, and it’s just so touching and so beautiful. It feels that it’s just like our story,” the group said.
The singers, originally from Santiago City, Isabela, said they help their family by singing for a living.
“We sang in many different occasions you can name, in any events and ceremonies. As a family and as sisters, we’ve experienced a lot of hardship, but we tried our best and we could overcome everything because of love,” they added.
For the siblings, having the same passion that pushes them harder to reach their dreams is their destiny.
Formerly known as the Gollayan sisters in the Philippines, the siblings first got eliminated from the show in September. They got their second chance after being selected as wild card and winning the rival mission.
Although the group had the lowest percentage of viewers’ votes in the previous episode, it was able to advance to the next round after the judges gave them high scores.
Filipino fans are appealing to fellow Pinoys in South Korea to help MICA win the competition by voting for them.
