Bloomin’ ‘eck, there has only been one episode of this year’s series of The X Factor and the controversy has already kicked off in a big way.

Ah, we’d missed the X Factor #dramz.

The first act of the series to be hit by this year’s ‘IT’S A FIX’ claims is girlband Fourth Power, who wowed the judges with their shock rendition of Jessie J’s ‘Bang Bang’.

The four Filipino sisters were introduced as super shy amateurs who practiced their techniques at home, however, viewers were shocked when it broke last night that the girls are actually professional musicians and have appeared on and won a series of talent contests already – and even have records available to buy on Amazon.

Yikes.

Furthermore, it has also been revealed that ITV producers totally knew about their mass success across Asia and had invited the band to come to the UK to take part in the show – with them even being the ones to ask Fourth Power to make the shaky home video of them flying into London.

The girls met with show bosses before they auditioned in front of Cheryl, Rita Ora, Nick Grimshaw, and Simon Cowell, and told them all of the details of their glittering careers.

A source told The Mirror: “Producers were well aware who the girls were before they arrived in front of the judges – so it was no surprise that they were fantastic on the show.

“Executives looked at everything they had done before and discussed them at length before making the decision to invite them back and make them a big part of the launch show.

“Obviously they were exactly what had been expected.”

The good news is, the judges were left totally in the dark about the girls’ talents so their shocked and amazed reaction towards their audition was completely genuine.

The insider added: “But the judges had not been told what was coming, to ensure their reaction was as strong and completely natural as it could be.”

At least something is sacred, eh?

Fourth Power’s previous experience includes reaching the final rounds of South Korea’s biggest TV talent show, Superstar K6, under the name M.I.C.A.

They’ve also appeared in TV shows across the Phillippines, including Pinoy Idol and Showtime with the girls having successful careers as The Gollayan Sisters and The Cercados going back five years.

Pinoy Idol is made by the same production company behind the X Factor, Freemantle Media, and the sisters even had a record contract with Star Records Inc, who have professional arrangements with Sony music.

This is not the first time that the show has been accused of ‘scouting talent’ for the amateur auditions, but show rules clearly state that this is an accepted part of the show:

“Acts may be invited to audition for the programme by researchers acting on behalf of the producer.

“Such acts will be required to go through the audition process.”

Ah, X Factor, it’s good to have you back.
