A 63-year-old Filipino caregiver was shot and killed by his patient in Anchorage, Alaska earlier this week.

The Filipino was identified as Eduardo Escalante.

Escalante and his wife just moved to the United States from the Philippines last March.

Court documents revealed that Paul Miller, 51, dialed 911 Tuesday evening, August 12, from an assisted living home and admitted to shooting his Filipino caretaker.

Police found Miller waiting outside of the home with a semi-automatic handgun and found the body of Escalante with multiple gunshot wounds to his neck, arm, and torso.

Miller was taken into custody and charged with first and second degree murder. He is reportedly being held on $500,000 bail

Reports says Miller’s motive for shooting Escalante has yet to be revealed.
