A Filipino nursing assistant in Southern California has been arrested for allegedly stealing from his elderly patient.
Maui Berganio was arrested for allegedly obtaining and using his elderly patient’s debit card information to make online purchases without her knowing.
It’s believed that 29-year-old Berganio may have taken over $40,000 from the victim who is now deceased.
Glendora Police say Berganio admitted to them that he has fraudulently obtained the account of at least two elderly victims.
Investigators said Berganio has worked at multiple facilities and they are now trying to see if he may have done similar crimes.
