A 12-year-old boy was rescued from kidnappers in Barangay Gugo, Samal, Bataan before dawn on Saturday, October 18.
Chief Superintendent Raul Petrasanta, regional director of Central Luzon police, said the boy, who was abducted Friday morning, October 17, was rescued by joint elements of the Bataan and Tarlac police at around 2 a.m. on Saturday.
Police said the vehicle which was supposed to bring the boy to his school in Concepcion, Tarlac on Friday was blocked by three armed men at around 7 a.m.
The boy, a Grade 6 student, was then forcibly taken by the suspects and brought to another vehicle.
Police said the suspects were asking P15 million ransom in exchange for the release of the boy.
Two suspects, identified as Freddie Aguilar and Melvin Samar, were arrested. Police recovered various firearms from the suspects.
Samar admitted that they abducted the boy to seek revenge against his parents for refusing to lend him money.
