A potential cyclone may enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Sunday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
Speaking to radio dzMM on Friday, weather forecaster Samuel Duran said they are monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) east of Mindanao.
“May tiyansa pong pumasok (ng PAR) by Sunday,” Duran said.
The weather disturbance is still too far to affect the country but PAGASA said it could intensify further as it remains at sea.
Meanwhile, the tail-end of a cold front is currently affecting the eastern section of Luzon.
The regions of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Bicol region and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will experience light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have isolated rains or thunderstorms.
