PNP Chief Alan Purisima faces 2nd plunder complaint

The Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) filed Monday a plunder complaint against Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Alan Purisima, just one week after a consumer group filed a similar complaint before the Ombudsman.

In its five-page complaint filed before the Office of the Ombudsman, the VACC filed plunder, graft, and indirect bribery charges against Purisima.

The group, through its founding chairman Dante Jimenez, is also seeking to hold Purisima liable for violating the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

It said Purisima must be punished for the administrative offenses of dishonesty, grave misconduct, and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.

The group cited Purisima’s unexplained wealth and the renovation of the controversial ”White House” mansion inside Camp Crame as bases in filing the complaint against Purisima.

The plunder complaint by the VACC is the second to be filed against Purisima, who has come under fire for his perceived inability to manage the peace and order situation in the country.

The first plunder complaint against Purisima was filed by consumer rights group Coalition of Filipino Consumers.
