Suspect in murder of Cherry Pie Picache’s mom arrested

Police have arrested the primary suspect in the killing of Zenaida Sison, the mother of actress Cherry Pie Picache.

The suspect, 29-year-old Michael Flores, was arrested after police received information of his whereabouts from a concerned citizen late Tuesday evening.

Supt. Pergentino Noble Malabed Jr., chief of Sta. Rosa Police, said Flores was spotted smoking outside Garden Villas 3 Subdivision in Barangay Malusak, Santa Rosa City, Laguna.

Flores was arrested by the Sta. Rosa and Quezon City Police, and the National Bureau of Investigation.

Police earlier said the bloodstained clothes found inside the victim’s house belong to Flores.

“Si Michael Flores ang itinuturo ng ating limang testigo. Madalas siya nagpupunta sa bahay ng mga biktima para maglinis,” Quezon City Police District Director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano said in an earlier interview.

Sison was killed inside her house in Quezon City last September 19. The suspect also took jewelry and money worth P500,000.
