At 4:00 a.m. on Friday, September 19, Tropical Storm “Mario” was spotted at 212 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora.
With maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 100 kph, “Mario” it is forecast to move west northwest at 22 kph.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), “Mario” is expected to make landfall in Cagayan Friday between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m..
Public storm warning Signal No. 2 has been raised over the following areas:

Calayan group of islands
Babuyan group of islands
Isabela
Kalinga
Apayao
Mt. Province
Abra
Ilocos Norte
Meanwhile, Signal No. 1 is hoisted over these areas:
Aurora
Quirino
Nueva Vizcaya
Ifugao
Benguet
Ilocos Sur
La Union
Batanes
While no public storm warning is hoisted over Metro Manila, several cities and nearby areas suspended classes because of floods and heavy rains caused by the habagat and Tropical Storm “Mario.”
