[WATCH] Motorist strikes back at no-helmet traffic enforcer

When a Pasig City traffic enforcer tried to apprehend a motorist because his backrider was not wearing a helmet, he ended up figuring in a video that has since gone viral on Facebook, reports The Daily Pedia.

The motorist, Rey Damulag Nobie, admitted he had a mistake and was willing to be ticketed, but he noticed how the traffic enforcer wasn’t wearing his own helmet as well.  When he pointed this out, the traffic enforcer got angry and allegedly began cursing him.

According to Nobie, he also noticed that aside from not wearing a helmet, the enforcer also had other violations.  His plates were badly damaged so that the plate number is no longer identifiable, the motorcycle’s registration appears to have been expired, and the muffler was open.

At this point, Nobie said he wouldn’t accept the ticket unless the enforcer first issues a ticket to himself for his own violations, reports When in Manila blog.

When Nobie turns the table against him, the traffic enforcer got even angrier.  More over, because Nobie was videotaping the last moments of the encounter, the enforcer told him to stop doing so because he was not a member of the media, anyway.

Egged on by Nobie who told him to wear his helmet, the enforcer continued to curse him.  He then went back to his motorcycle and proceeded to wear his helmet amid jeers from Nobie who warned him the video will be uploaded.  To this, the enforcer replied that he could upload it if he wants to.

As the enforcer sped away, Nobie taunts him that his motorcycle’s registration was already expired.  It seems that the motorist won this round and was not ticketed for his violation.

As of writing, the post has gone viral, gaining close to 19,000 shares.  Many of those who commented and shared the video agree with Nobie’s sentiments while there are also those who bashed him for uploading the video instead of giving the man the chance to explain himself to his superiors.

A number of commenters also told Nobie he was at fault; to these people, Nobie replies that he was aware of his violations, but only wanted to make the enforcer know that he was also wrong for having violations against laws he was supposed to impose himself.
