Cherry Mobile Tegra Note 7’s LTE version becomes official, gets priced

August 14, 2014 Technology

At the launch of the Cherry Mobile Flare 3, we spoke with executives about another potentially hot-selling product, the Tegra Note 7. We were told the local company, which is the exclusive tablet partner of Nvidia in the Philippines, is looking to bring the device’s LTE variant.

Well, it seems the market has spoken, as a promo material for the Cherry Mobile Tegra Note 7 LTE has surfaced online. Even better, the product is already available.

The Tegra Note 7 LTE retails for P13,999, which is a fair price considering what you’re getting. What’s more, a similar product sold in the U.S. is officially priced at $299.

Besides the inclusion of an LTE radio and the additional heft as a result of the upgrade, the Cherry Mobile Tegra Note 7 LTE is practically identical to its predecessor. Expect the same 7-inch 1,280 x 800 IPS display encased in black matte plastic, with mostly the same bloated dimensions that, unfortunately, make it far from being the easiest of tablets to carry around.

Still, it’s powered by a top-tier processor in the Nvidia Tegra 4, which features GeForce graphics and 1GB of RAM. There’s also 16GB of built-in storage, as well as microSD expansion for cards up to 32GB in capacity. The non-user-replaceable battery is rated at 4,100mAh.

The Cherry Mobile Tegra Note 7 LTE also comes with Android KitKat 4.4.2 plus a couple of preinstalled apps designed to help you put the included fine-tipped stylus to good use. The stylus of the non-LTE model has exceeded our expectations, and we’re pretty sure the experience will be just as good on the Tegra Note 7 LTE. As for LTE compatibility, we’re told the tablet supports the LTE networks of Globe and Smart.

If you’re in the market for an LTE tablet with veritable gaming chops, you may want to check out the Cherry Mobile Tegra Note 7 LTE. (With report from Ramon Lopez)
