January 7, 2015 Technology

Globe Telecom chief operating advisor Peter Bithos said the company likes “being the brand that introduces (subscribers) to new experiences, especially at little or no cost.”

“In that spirit, we don’t want to let 2015 to start without a bang… or without thanking our customers for a wonderful 2014. So, starting January 13, 2015 – and for an entire month – our world-renowned Free Facebook is back. But, this time, we have decided to spice it up a bit. In the month leading up to Valentine’s Day, we are also offering Free Viber for all Globe customers in the Philippines,” Bithos said.

There is no need to subscribe to any promo or daily registration to avail of free Facebook and free Viber.

“At Globe, we make it easy for you – no purchase required, no promo required, no daily registration required, and available to all Globe customers (mobile and Tattoo),” Bithos said.

In October 2013, Globe became the first company in the world to offer free Facebook access to its customers. It allowed users to use all or most of Facebook’s functions — posting, commenting, liking, chatting, without incurring data charges on their smartphones.

Globe has credited its free Facebook promo for boosting mobile data usage in the country.

In February 2014, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg showcased the social network’s partnership with Globe at the Mobile Mobile World Conference in Barcelona.
