[WATCH] Carmina Villarroel, Zoren Legaspi take the ice bucket challenge

More local celebrities are joining the global trend of raising awareness and raising funds for ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) victims by taking the ice bucket challenge.

Among the latest to join the trend are celebrity couple Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi, who were nominated by BB Gandanghari.

“I accept the ALS challenge. And for posterity purposes, I nominate Carmina and Zoren,” BB said on video before he himself got dumped with cold water last Wednesday, August 27 (BB was nominated by Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez).

Carmina and Zoren accepted BB’s challenge that very day and let their children, Cassy and Mavy, dump cold water on them.

“Thank you BB Gandanghari for nominating us to to do the ALS challenge,” Carmina said.

More nominees

She and Zoren nominated Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo; Shintaro Valdez and Sherilyn Tan, among others to take the ice bucket challenge.

BB and Carmina, whose marriage was annulled in 2002, have yet to talk to each other since the former came out of the closet. But both are willing to catch up with each other in private, and at the right time.

BB and Carmina failed to talk to each other at Kathryn Bernardo’s debut party last March because they didn’t want to attract attention.

BB’s explanation

“Of course, I can always say hi, wala namang masama. It’s just that ayaw kong mapaglaruan at that time. Anyway, it’s the first time na magkikita sina BB and Carmina. So, I guess it should be best kung isang mas private na place or something,” BB said in an interview.

Other local celebrities who took the ice bucket challenge are Kris Aquino, Lea Salonga, Vice Ganda, Aga Muhlach, Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Anne Curtis, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, Vhong Navarro and Julie Anne San Jose.
