CloudFone has been on fire lately, releasing one Android device after another in relatively short order. And it’s not done yet. Meet its recently released CloudFone Geo 402q, the self-proclaimed “most affordable quad-core smartphone with Gorilla Glass 3” in the Philippine market.

For those not in the know, Gorilla Glass is among the toughest forms of glass out there, making it an ideal choice for mobile devices and computer displays. That’s important when you consider how often we leave our phones and tablets vulnerable to keys and other fairly sharp objects. You’ve heard the horror stories or seen handsets with cracked screens in person, right?

Besides a scratch-resistant display made even better with One Glass Solution technology for crisper, sharper visuals, the CloudFone Geo 402q features a quad-core processor tied to 1GB of RAM and 4GB of expandable storage.

We’re guessing the resolution maxes out at 720p, but that’s a generous estimate.

The 8- and 2-megapixel rear and front cameras are par for the course among Android phones in the budget category.

The CloudFone Geo 402q is available exclusively at Globe Plan 299. It comes with a choice of candy-colored back covers (blue, pink, white, and gold—yes, gold!) in addition to the default black rear panel. Which brings us to one unintentional (or discreetly deliberate) bonus: From a distance, you’d be hard-pressed to tell the Geo 402q and iPhone 5c apart—at least, until you realize Apple’s iconic home button is missing, or the fact that the iPhone 5c doesn’t come in gold.
